NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Noelle Kristine in Breaking with Realism. The exhibition opens September 2, 2017 and runs through September 22,  2017 with an opening reception on Thursday, September 7 from 6-8 pm. Noelle Kristine’s luminous photographs capture the rich texture and emotional affect of isolated landscapes. Traveling alone to remote regions around the world, she uses photography as a vehicle for storytelling—about the magnificence of the natural environment but also the solitude of the journey. Her technically precise photographs are a meticulous study of both natural and personal transformations. Noelle Kristine’s A Yosemite Reflection is a tightly cropped composition in which natural hues reverberate with otherworldly intensity. In Shadow Dance, the artist documents the dramatic play of light and color in her journeyed terrain before digitally manipulating the image to mirror itself. This alteration is also an intervention, a way of inserting her presence into an otherwise impossibly pristine landscape. On the contrary, Sunshine Hits the Dunes is a straightforward depiction highlighting the spectacle of an untouched topography. The composition appears almost abstracted by the strong contrast of sun and shadow on a sheer cliff of rippling sand. Finally, Slicin’ Sand is a rare figurative image; the remote scenery is playfully activated by a single leaping figure, his enigmatic presence counteracting the solemnity of the vista.   Exhibition Dates: Sept. 2  – Sept. 22, 2017 Reception: Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, 6:00pm - 8:00pm Gallery Hours: Tues-Sat 11:00am – 6:00pm Gallery Location: 530 West 25th Street, New York, NY Event URL: https://www.agora-gallery.com/artistpage/Noelle_Kristine.aspx   Featured Artists: Herluck Antoine Blémur  |  Patricia Brintle  |  Heesu Choi  |  Joan Criscione  |  Noelle Kristine  |  Georges de Groot  |  Iftah Geva  |  Nancy Landauer  |  Rina Lazar  |  Maciej Marecki  |  Claudia Mayer-Mallenau  |  Marco Mendoza  |  Vandana Nittoor  |  Alex Osborne  |  Philippe Thélin  |  Nobuko Saji  |  Sydnei SmithJordan  |  Marc Tremblay   About the Exhibition Breaking with Realism Breaking with Realism is a group exhibition that explores 18 artists’ respective insights on themes of spirituality, humanity, and the natural world.
