NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Loïc Vendrame in Chelsea International Photography Competition . The exhibition opens January 27, 2018 and runs through February 7, 2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, February 1 from 6-8 pm. The photographs of Loïc Vendrame introduce viewers to novel architectural perspectives at the margins of structures that might feel entirely familiar. In his photography, the most functional designs become a source of ritualistic mystery. With a tonal range that encompasses the uncanny as much as the sublime, Vendrame communicates to viewers the architectural elegance that exists even after the utility of a building has long been abandoned. With an eye for the grandeur of these derelict structures, the artist peels back the histories layered into each building he photographs, mindful of the labor these structures have consolidated.
